Story Worthy

Two weeks ago, I became a freshman!  I talked about it being scary at one time, but now it is a breeze. The teachers help me get through the hiccups and my upperclassmen friends are a great influence on what and what not to do. They help take away most of my anxiety.   What mostly made my last couple weeks great is that I've noticed I have been making my mom proud when I come home and immediately start doing my work. After the flood, my parents were thinking it would be my last year because of financial binds. Even though they struggled, I watched them give their last to put me back at EHS for the start of my high school career. It may not seem like much, but putting a smile on my parents face means the world to me and is worth hearing about!

Reading Blog

For my independent reading, I am reading Scarlet by Marissa Meyer  and it is already a page turner within the first 100 pages. The action has already started and it in a way it keeps you on your toes because it is sort of crazy in a sense. The main character is exactly like the main character in the first book. She is crazy, searching for answers, and always in the midst of trouble.   This book caught my eye because the first book ended with a cliffhanger. It ended with the main character deciding whether or not she wanted to escape prison and leave to go to Africa. In the second book, the main character has fallen through a roof of another prison cell and is still self conscious of who to trust. You notice also that the second main character has the same issues as the first and it makes you wonder are they tied together or just a coincidence.

Free Writing Q1;W2

I know people say it is normal to be nervous for your first year of high school, but this is crazy! Being at the bottom of the "food chain", losing and making new friends, and even learning learning where all my new classes are, are all factors of a new school year that give me major anxiety! Yet, this year it is worse! These next four years determine what college I will attend, what occupation I will have,  and will guide me through the phase of "after high school".                   Now that I have established in my brain that these next four years are just the beginning, I have set high goals for myself. I remind myself daily that playing around now is no longer an option. The people I hang around now are supposed to encourage me to be my best. Not discourage me and keep me from completing my duties. I've also told myself procrastination will get me nowhere. I have to be diligent and disciplined to be the best Naya I can pos

Response to summer reading free choice books

My summer reading choice book was The Testing by Joelle Charbonneau. The story is about a  teenage girl named Malencia Vale who has just graduated from high school. In her society, the brightest kids are chosen by government leaders to take a series of tests that will determine their future either for the good or the bad. After receiving a message saying she was chosen, she is quickly pulled aside by her father to be warned about all the dangers hat come with these tests. After realizing that her father's message was true, her entire look on life and the peers around her completely change!  The Testing by Joelle   Charbonneau is an exciting book that has many twists and turns on every page. It deals with issues that include death, heartbreak, depression and much more! Charbonneau does an amazing job keeping the book interesting and unique at all times. This book does really well relating to high school kids who are entering high school or preparing to leave
