Research Post

   A couple weeks ago, I chose to do some research on the life of Marie Antoinette. When Ms. Howell proposed the idea to me, it seemed boring. Who wanted to hear about a boring old queen who had ticked off enough people and got her head chopped off? It took me a week of researching why this woman was executed so gruesomely to become interested. This woman played a major part in the French Revolution.    So far the research has been going well for the most part. The only confusing part is completing the notecards. When Ms. Howell told the class how to complete them, she turned to me and said that I did not need to worry about how to do notecards since I was not finished with annotations. Now that we have to complete them at home for Emergency Closure Lessons, it's just a little challenging because I don't have a teacher here to guide me.

Human Nature: Imperfections

   I believe humans are fundamentally meant to be flawed. We all make mistakes which then lead to us learning our lesson, but then turning back to do it again. We all turn towards others for advice and still make the wrong decisions. It's like its an unintentional program in humans minds to make mistakes before we grow from them. But I've also learned that we bounce back even harder from our mistakes when we try again   One time, I was working on having better time management skills. I was practicing writing assignments down and even cutting down my social time. Well eventually I got bored with this new routine and gave up. So I began to be lazy and not turn assignments in on time. After a couple weeks of nothing my lazy streak, I picked backup the pace and finished the class with an A. I realized I wasn't perfect, but I still had to do the best I could so that my imperfections wouldn't label who I was.

My best friend

Last year, I made a best friend. His name was Cole. Cole was the funniest, sweetest, weirdest, most adorable and aggravating person I had ever met. After about a week, we automatically had figured out that eighth grade wouldn't be so terrible if we stuck together. Cole and I went through ups, downs, and even in betweens. He was the greatest thing to ever happen to me.   One day, I got a phone call from Cole saying he was moving to Atlanta. I thought it was a joke at first but as months went on it became a reality to me that I only had so many weeks until my other half moved away. May 26, 2017 was the last day I saw my best friend. These last few months have been heartbreaking because I haven't had my best friend in so long. Thankfully though on January 26, 2018 I will be taking a trip to Atlanta to see my best friend. There we will exchange Christmas gifts and missed birthday gifts.
